Mary and sister Ann 20626, 29906 worked for Herbert Lawrence, ship builder.
Her boss Herbert Lawrence was a well-known and very successful shipbuilder. He died 02/28/1882. He was friends with Vanderbilt family and owned his own shipbuilding firm, produced racing boats. Mary’s brothers were in the coal business with cousin Charles Clarke. Mary and her sister were domestics who never married.
