“James Gibney aged 74 years, an old and respected resident of Meriden, died Sunday morning at his home, 269 Hanover street, after a lingering illness.  He is survived by one son, Hugh, and two daughters, Mary and Margaret, of this city, and one brother, Edward, also two sisters, Mrs. Lowney and Mary Gibney, of New York.  The funeral will be held Tuesday morning with a high mass of requiem at St. Joseph’s church.  Interment will be in the family plot, St. Patrick’s cemetery.”

Sometime between 1880 and 1892, Ellen Cumaskey/Cummiskey went to Meriden, CT where her sister, Susan Cummiskey 16132, lived with her husband, James Gibney.
