When Daniel died in 1887, his family was spread out across the US: brother Michael was in Brooklyn, brother William in Chicago, brother John lived in St. Louis, the son of his deceased sister lived in Chicago, and the children of another sister lived in Melbourne Australia.  All this according to wife Jane's petition in the Kings County Surrogate's Court records.
