Julia d. Aug 1893 (art. about will)

New York Herald, Tuesday, April 10, 1894 p8, col 6

Surrogate Fitzgerald yesterday began the contest over the will of Mrs. Julia O’Dea, widow of Patrick O’Dea. Mrs. O’Dea died last August, aged eighty years.  By her will executed last May she gave to the Rev. James J. Flood, of the Church of St. John the Evangelist, $1,000 and a similar sum to the church.  The rest of her estate she gave to the Home for Old Ladies and the Little Sisters of the Poor.  This last will is contested by several nieces who were remembered in previous wills.  They charge that Mrs. O’Dea was mentally incompetent.
