MOVING BEYOND "RAGS TO RICHES"

Bartholomew Smith, acct. 855

Additional Information on Bartholomew Smith:

Bartholomew Smith, grate and fender maker, was called twice for jury duty in high profile NYC trials--Mayor
Hall (1872) and McFarland murder (1870). He was rejected for the Hall jury, not sure about McFarland, but in
both cases amused the courtroom.
