DIES AT MASS FOR WIFE

Mr. Peter McGinness Drops Dead at Service in Church of St. Ignatius Loyola

   At a requiem mass in memory of his wife, who died a year ago.  Mr. Peter McGinness, formerly deputy sheriff, dropped dead yesterday in the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, Eighty-four street and Park avenue.  He was stricken as he sat with his two daughters, Mrs. Anna T. O’Connor and Miss Geraldine McGinness.

   Mr. McGinness was seventy-three years old and was widely known in this city as a democratic politician.  For twenty years he was a deputy sheriff.

   Mr. McGinness was graduated from St. Francis Xavier College, and was a member of the General Committee of Tammany Hall.  His home was at No. 1,048 Park avenue.
